I am so excited for this! There will be a brand new, fabulous blog coming soon! The photos will be bigger, the blog itself will be "flashier" and it will be just more fantastic! Check back as I hope to have it up in the next 2 weeks!!!

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sarah & Greg's wedding on friday. It was in KC at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. It was very intimate and they couldn't have looked happier. I have known Sarah since she was probably 10 or 11 as I grew up w/ her older sister...I love that my friends from 7th grade...(gasp! 16 years ago!) are still my closest friends...its pretty rare. So, we had a blast hanging out in the hotel while they got ready...I ended up being the makeup artist as well which was so much fun! I am so happy for these two and I wish them nothing but joy and love and a safe journey to Berkeley! Sarah is going to get her PHD! Yay!!! I will definately have to come visit you guys when I'm in the area! Check out there slideshow here.
Oh, and I couldn't decide which ones to post....so I just did a bunch! This first one of Sarah is breathtaking!!!

Agency 89 Photo Shoot....

Ok, could these pink tu-tu's be any cuter? I adore these little girls and they are so easy to photograph...I mean, check out the eyes! We had the little piano out, the bike, it was so much fun and I can't wait to get to work on editing more of these.

My sister had her first baby boy on June 10th at 4:22 pm. I was in the room and it was amazing! I was in the room w/ her girls as well, so it was very special! His name is Gavin and he's adorable! He is already used to getting his photo taken as Aunt Leah has been going over there every day...and before you know it, he's laying down, looking so peaceful...and out comes the camera! His big sisters love him and are having so much fun with him. Such a doll!

I had this amazing family to photograph and we had so much fun...then the wind came, and yes, it was one of our big storms brewing. So...we did a couple more pics, then I came back a week or so later to finish up where we left off. We had a blast and I loved working with you guys! So cute!!

Liz & Will were married on the 17th...it was a fabulous wedding and they were an awesome couple, not to mention gorgeous! I shot the wedding with my photo partner, Nicole Kulinski check out her work from the wedding!! We also did one this past weekend, and will post some of those shortly. We had a blast and can't wait to get the finals edited!!! Thanks to their family for making this such a fabulous day!

My sister is at 35 weeks, and while playing around w/ the new camera at my parents house for a bbq, I did this quick shot....and I love it! She has 4 daughters who will all be on this blog in the very near future and is having her first baby boy!!! I can't wait to shoot the birth announcements! He's in for it w/ all those sisters!!

Yes, I finally ordered and received my new camera yesterday!!! And, had a shoot, so I got to use it! Its a HUGE deal, b/c I switched over to the other side, yup, I've been a Nikon girl for 9 years, and I just got the new Canon 5D! And, I'm obsessed!!! Although, I will always keep my Nikon D200, this is a fairly big jump and I'm pumped up about it....especially b/c we have wedding this weekend and Nicole and I will have the same camera! Here are a couple cool shots from my shoot yesterday....such a cute family!!!

Did an awesome engagement shoot on friday, and Tom is an ex football player, so we were able to do a few shots in the stadium which was awesome, but because of legal reasons, we can't post them! (boo!) However, we headed downtown and got some awesome stuff! I shot w/ my photo partner, Nicole Kulinski who rocks! Her and I also shot a wedding yesterday, so I will get some of those up as well!!

I did some photos for Project Childhood, and donation will go towards the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Lincoln Chapter. I am so excited to be a part of this and had so much fun with Satori, who was diagnosed 2 years ago at the age of 3. And, the day before our session she received her pump....no more shots! Yea!!! My brother has had Type 1 diabetes for 20 years, so this is an organization that is near and dear and I'm thankful I can be a part of it and provide some awesome photos for Satori's family. Thanks Dana!!!

Curls that I love...

Okay, so one of my dearest friends of the past 11 years came to visit from Chicago....she is expecting her first little girl in July, and while I was over there catching up with the fam, her niece was running around, with the most beautiful curls and eyes. I knew I had to come back and bring my camera...so I did, and I am so glad! She is amazing to photograph...and so much fun! Thank you "Wilsons"!

I photographed this little guy at about 3 weeks old. He was so adorable, and seemed to enjoy getting his photo taken. I am getting so lucky with all of these fabulous babies...and they seem to be awake for me too! Congrats to mom and dad on baby AJ!

Photos of 2 year old "D". Mom is expecting a baby girl in June...so we wanted to catch him cuddling up with moms tummy, this of course took a few tries before we got him to lay there, but thats what its about, and in the mean time, I caught some great shots of him...his eyelashes are to die for and he was so much fun!

So, took "B" down to the haymarket with his parents....and needless to say, a 1 year old downtown? I didn't know how that would go, but it went awesome! He just ran around and was just being a one-year old! What more can a photographer ask for? He is so cute, and you can see why! I added, what I think may be one of my new "signature" shots....can you tell which one?

...yup, this looks like the one year old that has recently discovered he can run!! =)

Project Childhood

I found this organization through another photographers website (audrey woulard) and felt completely passionate about it. I signed up and emailed the founder right away!

I am on board along with many other photographers and more to come, I'm sure! I am going to involve myself with the Lincoln Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. My brother has had diabetes for almost 20 years, so this is near and dear. Please check out www.projectchildhood.com for more information!

This is a summary of what it consists of for us photographers!.....

1. The overall goal is to provide a web gallery of photos that will ultimately seek to inspire others to see the beauty of childhood. Once the gallery is up and running, I am hoping to get the press involved and use the site as a site of inspiration, a site that reminds us of how precious children are. It will be a site meant to CELEBRATE CHILDHOOD, a site filled with content by those who spend each day doing just that through the art of photography. What better people to capture the essence of childhood then photographers.

2. By offering a free session to a child who normally wouldn't be able to afford it, each photographer is making a significant difference in that child's life. If nothing else, those parents will have a picture on their wall of their child. A picture to celebrate, and that child will grow up knowing that someone took the time to make a difference. As a high school teacher, I see just how powerful it can be when someone takes the time to show interest in the life of a child.

3. By donating the session fee to a children's charity of his or her choice, each photographer will be making a difference in the community and contributing to a cause that they feel warrants financial assistance. It's sort of like the PAY IT FORWARD concept.

During the month of April to celebrate Child Abuse Awareness they are having a ultra cool contest...

Working on the honor system, professional photographers from across the globe will be asked to complete the following:

1. Offer a free session to a child who normally wouldn't be able to afford one, and then provide the parents with a free portrait from the session.

2. The photo must capture the essence of childhood.

3. Donate your session fee to a children's charity of your choice.

4. Submit the photo to PROJECT CHILDHOOD along with a link to your charity.

5. The contest is limited to three entries per photographer, but each submission must be of a different child, and must be submitted under the following assumption: You have donated your session fee for each child to a children's charity of your choice.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION is Friday, April 25, 2007 at 11:59 PM PST.

Starting April 2, 2008, entries will be featured in a special gallery at www.projectchildhood.com, compliments of BluDomain.

In addition to having your photo displayed, all participating photographers will be linked from a special links section, along with a link to their charity.

Please ensure you include your name or business (whichever you prefer), along with a link to your site and your children’s charity.

Wedding...

I had so much fun shooting my cousins wedding at the end of March! Not only was it a fun group, but I also got to be w/ my family! And, yes, I was the one dancing the "cha-cha slide" with my camera around my neck! Just in case!
Also, what is a blog without a fabulous photo of your mom! (See below, she is the one w/ the glasses laughing w/ her sister....aka my aunt) I love that moment!

This is little Charly....she was a delight! At just 7 days old, she was wide awake for the whole 1 1/2 hour session! Ok, she started getting sleepy cuddling w/ dad, but she is a beautiful model!
